About the event

This event is held by (Re)Birth Society– a community-led non-profit organization committed to justice, wellness, education, and empowerment. As stated in (Re)Birth’s Total Wellness Initiative, we strongly support the reclamation and restoration of African-Indigenous spiritual traditions and religions, which we believe can help provide healing and empowerment to our community. We hope to make this an annual celebratory event.

In addition to our lineup of activities and entertainment, we will be using this event to conduct interviews and add to our archives kept of the Hoodoo/African-Indigenous folks of today and those who came before us.

______

A portion of the event will be dedicated to story weaving and we encourage attendees to consider the following:

What are some of the encouraging words that our ancestors and elders have left us to pass on? What kind of future are we envisioning for our descendants? What are some of our ancestors “wildest” dreams…
